The format will be 18 holes Stableford with an entrance fee of £25.00 for men and £20.00 for ladies or equivalent in Euro. The entrance fee includes a meal subsidy of £3.

There will be individual prizes for Armagh Masons and the ‘The Dougan Sword’ will be awarded to the Province of Armagh Lodge with the three best scorecards. The Portadown Cup will be awarded to the best card returned from a member of Portadown Golf Club and there will also be prizes for Masons from other Provinces, for non-Masons and for ladies.

This year we are in need of a main sponsor (£250 has been the amount in previous years) and hole sponsors at a recommended cost of £35. Donations of a smaller amount will also be welcome. Details of sponsors will appear on tee boxes, or can be kept anonymous if requested.

Sponsorship and donations should be sent to the golf committee treasurer, Mr Bobbie McDowell, 23 Rose Garden, Mullavilly, Craigavon BT62 2NJ.

There will also be an optional draw. Anyone wishing to provide a prize or prizes for the draw should contact a committee member.

As in previous years all proceeds will be divided between Masonic and non-Masonic charities.

I look forward to your support for this year’s competition. Please make every effort to support this important event in aid of Charity.

                                                                             CLASSES OF INSTRUCTION

The purpose of the classes of Instruction is to provide an opportunity for the younger Brethren to become versed in the ritual and symbolism of Freemasonry. Also to be able to practise the ritual in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meetings are usually overseen by the Preceptor (another word for teacher) who is an experienced member of the Lodge. Anyone going into office for the first time should make the classes of instruction a priority; certainly give yourself time to learn before you take office. There is so much to learn and often not enough time to learn it. Learning ritual for the majority of us is role based repetition, there is no “easier” method than constantly reading and repeating, but in a fun environment learning is quicker and enjoyable, give yourself an alternative to learning at home and try the class.

Classes for 2018-2019 will be displayed when dates are confirmed.
