I am delighted to have the opportunity to welcome you to the official website of the Masonic Province of Armagh. Our aim is to provide a broad overview of Freemasonry in the Province of Armagh and to set out the principles of our Order along with history and information about the Lodges and their activities, and especially the charitable work which is undertaken.
Despite common opinion, Freemasonry is not a political or religious organisation. In Fact those two topics are not to be discussed at any Masonic meeting. Freemasonry enables men from different parts of society to meet together as equals, regardless of religious background, political leaning, class or any other social category.
The website is mainly for the dissemination to our Brethren at home and abroad, you are very welcome to enter the site and I would hope you find it interesting and informative. you may contact us for further information. Many people assume that to become a Freemason you have to be invited to join. This is not the case, in fact while members might encourage their friends to join, they do not recruit or invite candidates for membership. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to ask a member or e mail the Provincial Grand Secretary, V W Bro Gilbert T Irvine at firstname.lastname@example.org
On 1st July this year (2017) I attended, along with RW Bro. Bobbie McDowell PAGM and Alan Hewitt, committee member of the Provincial charity golf competition, the official launch of the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, (this was the chosen non-Masonic charity by the golf committees) and presented a gift of £1200.00. A full report on the competition can be seen on the charity page and my thanks to WB Jimmy Blair PGL Asst. Secretary for supplying us with a very informative report. I would also like to place on record my grateful thanks to all Brethren involved in the organising of the competition.
